Field

A labeled input. What gets typed fills a named action value.

A field collects one value for the action a nearby button submits. It can be one line or a tall text area, and it can hide itself until another input holds a given value.

Properties

• Label: the words above the input. Required.
• Kind: text, number, date, email, password, tel, or url.
• Placeholder: the hint words before anything is typed.
• Step / Min / Max: number kind: the step between values and the legal range.
• Max length: the most characters the field takes.
• Required: the form refuses to fire without it.
• Autofocus: the field takes focus when the page opens.
• Value: the words the field starts with.
• Hidden: collects its value without rendering.
• Multiline: a tall text area instead of one line, with a resize direction.
• Autofill: the browser autofill hint: email, name, or off.
• Focused border / fill / icon: the look while focused.
• Size / Padding / Border radius: the box geometry, in pixels.
• Param: the action value this input fills, collected by the nearest button.
• When: show only while another input on this screen holds a named value. A hidden input collects nothing.
